EQ 10--What are we using the Flash program to create? Tell me at least 5 terms and explain them that you learned as we did practice with Flash.

We are using the Flash program to create an appropriate story that represents a fractured fairytale.  Each frame of the story will consist of one line of the story.  The minimum number of lines we can have for the story are ten.  The first term I have learned is the Motion Tween.  When applying it to an object, it has the capabilities to move the object.  The next term I have learned is the Shape Tween.  In our practice we used it to convert one shape into another shape.  I also learned about the Insert Frame, in our practice we used the Insert Frame when we were using the Shape Tween.  Next, I learned about the Insert Keyframe.  We used this when we were using the Motion Tween to move certain objects.  Lastly, I learned about the Deco Tool.  I have used this tool to create a tree.  However, this tool has many more capabilities.

EQ 9--How did your company presentation go? What was the best part? What was the weakest part? What is the main thing you learned during this presentation?

I thought our company presentation went fairly well.  Kayla and I could not really get a read on what the panel of judges were thinking, but I do think that we did a pretty good job.  I think the best part was our Prezi and the thirty second commercial we created.  I believe the weakest part was the actual presentation, I believe we could have had a little more preparation.  The main thing we learned during the presentation was that creating a business is very challenging and time consuming.  There is so much more work that would be needed in real life then what we completed.  If we were to do this over again, we would definitely have more preparation as well as having a more fluent presentation.

EQ 8--Reflect on the progress of your company project--3-4 sentences.

The process of creating our company has been going pretty good so far.  We have been working hard and are focused on presenting an original product that is appealing to others.  During this process we have been helping each other as well as working on certain parts by ourselves.  We are pleased with how the company is developing, but remain determined to enhance it and improve some low points.

EQ 7--Review this semester. What activities have you enjoyed and why? Why activities have you not enjoyed and why? Upload your favorite piece of work so far and explain why it is your favorite.

This semester has been very enjoyable for me.  I have definitely expanded my skills on the computer, and for different programs.  I hope to take the information I have obtained and keep building on it.  I can say I have enjoyed most of the activities I have done, but my favorites have been the business logo design and the trace face image.  I enjoyed these because I had few problems with them and I enjoyed the process of developing the images.  The activity that I enjoyed the least was probably trade face.  I had a decent amount of trouble aligning the faces and making the images look as realistic as possible.  It was my first time working with Photoshop and I was not very familiar with it, I didn't know where a lot of the buttons were and things like that.

I enjoyed the trace face the most because most importantly, I thought it looked very realistic.  I liked tracing the face with the pencil and examining the final product when you removed the background.  The persons face I traced was Kaylenne Goins and I thought it resembled her very well.  Overall, I just really enjoyed this project and was pleased with the result.

EQ 6--Upload your favorite logo. Explain how you made it. Explain why it is your favorite.

The first step to creating my logo began with making a background to place it on.  Then I created a  layer and selected the American Typewriter font as well as the size.  I then proceeded to type EST. 2014 in a smaller size while still using the same font.  Then I double clicked on the layer and played around with different borders I thought enhanced the quality of the image.  I finally decided on the one as seen above.  I sized it up correctly around the text, which completed my logo.  This is my favorite logo because it is fairly simple, but has good quality and possesses the ability to catch someones eye.  I believe it has a bit of an old fashioned feel to it, which can be attractive to both older and younger customers.  Overall I think it is a solid logo, it carries both simplicity and style.

EQ 5- What are the eight parts of the business plan you were assigned? Is that different then you thought? What are the issues you have had so far writing your plan? What has been easy?

The eight parts of the business plan I was assigned were executive summary, company description, market analysis, organization and management, service or product line, marketing and sales, funding requests, and financial projections.  It was very different from what I originally thought they would be.  Originally I thought they would pertain more to advertising, product, employees, and money.  I learned that the business plan is much more in depth.  The major issue I had with writing my business plan was continually answering relatively the same question.  I had to think of original responses for various related questions.  I also struggled with smaller details such as estimating the number of customers that will be served once the business opens.  One detail that has been easy is creating the executive summary, explaining the plans and details for the business and the expectations you have for it.  Creating the organization and management section was also relatively easy. This consists of explaining who does what and how you will run the business.

EQ 4--What do you think goes in a business plan? What are the parts? Is research involved? What facts do you need to know, if any? Where could you find this information?

I believe there are many key parts that compose a business plan.  I think there are three basic parts for a business plan, funding, product/service, and employees.  Funding consists of the amount of money needed to be successful and to cover all the costs associated with a business such as paying bills, paying employees, and buying material.  Product/service consists of what the company is going to sell or perform.  The product/service needs to be discussed thoroughly and everyone should be confident as well as familiar with the product.  Employees are a key part, if necessary, for selling and manufacturing the product/service.  I think research should  definitely be involved.  Everyone should discuss different plans and find which plans are more successful then others, and also take into consideration cost efficiency.  Certain facts you should know are details about your product, cost of manufacturing your product, paying employees, business costs, and advertising.  You could find much of this information on the internet, or you could discuss with other businesses as well as business who carry the same or similar product.
